All the things you didn’t know you needed
A stroll around any kind of shopping centre will reveal many things. It will reveal just how bright fluorescent lights have become. It will reveal just how many people are reproducing and making extremely annoying children that you can’t help but try to run and hide from.
It will reveal that, no matter how much you try and avoid them, those travellers who are earning money by doing ‘charitable work’ (read: stopping you in your tracks and asking you for your life history when, if they just asked for a donation, could probably do a lot more good) are always going to around, no matter how much you try to avoid them.
It will also reveal one other cold, hard fact: shopping centre advertising is everywhere you look. Literally, everywhere. Enter the parking lot: you’ll see advertising in shoppping centre. Get out of your car: you’ll see advertising. Use an escalator: you’ll see advertising. Take a lift: you’ll get a good twenty seconds of advertising thrust into your face that you can’t ignore.
‘Where else will you see advertising?’ I hear you ask. Well, strap yourself in, because there are plenty of other places in you’ll see shopping centre advertising! Feeling peckish? Head over to the food court and you will undoubtedly see it. Go to the bathroom and, yep, you guessed it. You will see it there too.
And that’s not even mentioning the shops themselves. Get ready for an assault on your every sense. Because in every shop, every stall, every pop-up, every kiosk, every supermarket, every chain, every department, every section, every room, every hallway, every nook and cranny, you will see advertising absolutely everywhere.
Want to get away from all this advertising. We suggest heading to the middle of nowhere. Although, chances are you’ll see it out there too.
